Madhya Pradesh and ADB Forge Billion-Dollar Clean Energy Partnership

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has partnered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to facilitate renewable energy public-private partnership (PPP) ventures across the state. This milestone agreement marks ADB's inaugural transaction advisory services (TAS) mandate in India, positioning the institution to guide three major clean energy initiatives. Signed in Bhopal by ADB Country Director Mio Oka and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, the framework targets up to one billion dollars in private sector investments. Highlighting the pipeline is an integrated solar power generation and battery energy storage facility engineered to bolster grid stability. Ultimately, the multi-phase initiative aims to scale up the state's renewable footprint while upgrading the reliability, flexibility, and overall performance of its electrical grid.
